✔ Bodily injury & property damage liability
Bodily injury liability protects you if you're responsible for injuring others in a boating accident. Additionally, liability coverage helps pay for repairs or replacement of damaged property, such as other watercraft or structures, and covers legal expenses if you’re sued.
For example, if you accidentally collide your boat into a pier while docking, causing significant damage and injuring people on the pier, liability insurance will cover the cost of repairs and medical expenses, up to your policy’s limits.
✔ Uninsured/underinsured boater (UB/UIB)
If you're struck by an uninsured or underinsured boater, UB/UIB (Uninsured/Underinsured Boater) coverage will cover your injuries and damages up to the limits of your policy.
For instance, if another boater without insurance collides with your vessel, injuring everyone on board, and cannot cover the damages out of pocket, UB/UIB will step in to pay for the costs the at-fault boater would have been responsible for, up to your selected limits.
✔ Medical payments
You can choose from a range of coverage limits to help pay for medical bills if you or your passengers are injured in a boating accident or while on your boat.
For example, if you accidentally cut your hand with a sharp hook while fishing and need stitches, resulting in a costly medical bill, your health insurance might not cover it due to an unmet deductible. With medical payments coverage, you can use your policy to cover the expense without worrying about a deductible.
